Supreme One Flag CTF

You cant contribute to this project anymore, that means you cannot sign up for a mapslot.
Suggestions for this project are still welcome.

General Info
If you like to make a map for this wad, please post in this thread asking for a slot.
Try to keep us up-to-date with your map's progress by posting here in this tread.
When you have finished youre map, send it to me.
Anyone may do a map.

Mapping Info
All maps must be in Skulltag 0.97 format.
You may use new textures.
You may use any music you want.
You may use ambient sounds in your map.
Create your own mapinfo for your own map.

Finally an original st ctf map pack that will work in 97 that isn't a clan wad! But why not just make the maps ctf with white flags somewhere? That way it can be played for both gamemodes.

Also RBCTF has 1flag.

@Hex_vulture: Yes, the maps will be CTF compatible to so you can play both gamemodes, but my target is to let people play more One flag capture the flag because there arent so much wad's for OCTF

Why does everyone tell people they can't use any new textures in projects nowadays? Part of what makes some maps look really good is unique textures being used, instead of doom2 shit over and over again.

I guess it just depends on the opinion of who's running the project. If I don't allow textures (and I'll explain my reasoning in a sec), then I'll atleast try to compile a texture resource wad to get away from the normal Doom2 stuff (however, if its for Skulltag...there's already a massive amount of textures in the Skulltag.wad). The reason why I may not allow custom textures to be used is because if everyone starts piling textures into their wads, it can cause a couple of things to happen. Number one, you end up with a massive amount of textures that take up a lot of room. If one map is just using X number of texture and the rest aren't, it's not a very efficient use of resources. Also, depending on who sends in the map, you can have X number of textures that aren't even being used. Secondly, there can be conflicts...and trust me, this happened to me a number of times during SMDM's development. It's a pain in the ass to find and rename textures just to prevent conflicts and to remove any redundant textures.

I'm all for new textures however, I agree with your reasoning Laz. But sometimes limiting or even disallowing the use of new textures can be better for a project's health...I guess it really all depends on who's leading up the project :nod:

This is looking really cool so far. One suggestion I have, though, is to use a midtexture other than STEPTOP for your bridges. Using the same 16-tall metal supports from the sides of them would probably work best, but pretty much anything would be better than STEPTOP. :|
