Announcing DoomseekerOur new open, official, cross-platform browserDoomseeker is a new cross platform browser maintained by Zalewa and Blzut3. Our goal is to provide all classic Doom players with a very fast, very smooth experience regardless of port or platform. Fast. Play Skulltag in 2 seconds. That's right, Doomseeker will query all 200 Skulltag servers in roughly 2 seconds. Doomseeker takes advantage of multi-threading to allow multiple servers to be queried at the same time, and the refreshing code is implemented intelligently, with performance in mind. The result? You no longer have to wait for the list to be slowly populated. Just start up and go. Open. Not just for Skulltag. We're fully receptive to other ports taking advantage of Doomseeker's ability and we'll go out of way to make it easy for them. In the next milestone, a plug-in architecture will allow any port author to quickly add support for this browser. What's more, the browser is open source and released under the GPL v2, so other port authors can build off of it. Cross platform.Developed with the Qt Toolkit, Doomseeker will run on most popular platforms including Linux, Windows (95 and later), and Mac OS. DownloadWindows (5.90MB) Source Code (SVN) Linux Compilation InstructionsRequirements: - G++
- CMake version 2.4 or later
- Qt4 development kit version 4.4 or later. If you are using Ubuntu 8.04 you must enable the hardy-backports repository or compile Qt yourself.
- Subversion
On debian based systems these package can be downloaded with the following command: Code: $ sudo apt-get install cmake libqt4-dev subversion g++ Use subversion to checkout the source: Code: $ svn co http://skulltag.com/doomseeker/svn/trunk/ doomseeker Run CMake and compile: Code: $ cd doomseeker $ cmake . $ make If all goes well you should now have a doomseeker binary built. Code: $ ./doomseeker Enjoy.

Added G++ to Linux requirements. That should fix your problem.

Ok, got it to work now. This is AWESOME! I was shocked when I got the server list just in a second. Really awesome browser. All it's missing is a good alternative for GetWad EDIT: I also found that wad names are case sensitive, that is not good thing.

Well, if server uses gvh.pk3 and I have GVH.pk3, It prevents me from joining.

Hmm, so will this be replacing IDESE?
And it needs an icon. I suggest a Revenant since they fire seeker missiles. Doomseeker. Seeker missiles. Revenant. Get it?

Great browser, the refresh speed is indeed fast! I saw only one problem though (and it isn't a show stopper or anything). The categories tabs in the "configure" menu are editable:
