This is a guide to show how you can Register with NickServ, and Have your IRC Client (Skulltalk, mIRC, ect.) Auto Identify/Auth on Startup.

Q: Why would you want to Register a Nick?
A: Simply because, you won't change into a Guest#### anymore. Also, you will be able to have Auto stuff like, Auto-Voice, Auto-Op... Only if you have the Correct Flags set in that channel.

How to Register your Nick

Anyhow, I'm gonna start off with How to Register your Nick. First, Start up Skulltalk, or another client that you use. Make sure you have the Nick you want to use. If you don't, just use "/nick <Username>" without quotes. (replace <Username>, with a nick of your choice.) After all that, You want to type "/msg NickServ REGISTER <Password> <Email>" without Quotes. (replace <Password>/<Email> with a Password of your Choice, and <Email> with your Email Address. It should send you an email, if not, Just pm an IRC Operator. You can find a list of IRCops Here) After that, you should receive a msg back, like this. Yes I know I used IDE in the screenshot. It should say the same thing in Any IRC client.

After all that, you will need to set up your client to Auto-Identify. There is many clients out there, such as Skulltalk, Xchat, Hydra IRC, Chatzilla, MIRC, ect. Here, I will show you how to Set Up Skulltalk to Auto Identify on Startup.

NOTE: LOGIN works as well just like IDENTIFY. Just replace IDENTIFY with LOGIN.

How to Auto Identify with Skulltalk

First off, Start up Skulltalk. You should see its set to IRC.Skulltag.net. Right click on it, Then. click on Edit. Click Next. (if you have not used Skulltalk before, Just type in your Username in the Nickname Box, and hit Next), Ignore the window, and click on Next, if you already set up. This window is where you set your Identify Stuff. Type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <Username> <Password>" without Quotes. (replace <Username>/<Password> with your own) After that, click on Complete. You are done Just Connect like Normal.

How to Auto Identify with IDE

First off, Go to IDE>IRC Chat Tab. Click on New Connection. ( its the second icon on the upper left.) A window like this will pop up. In the Box "Extra Initialization Commands", Just put "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <Username> <Password>" without Quotes. (replace UserName/Password with your own) and Then Hit ok. It will connect to Skulltag IRC, and you should see - -NickServ- You are now identified for <User>. (<User> being your Identified name.

If you use mIRC, like me, but with NNScript...

How to Auto Identify with mIRC

There is alot of ways you can do this with mIRC. If you only use mIRC for Skulltag IRC, then All you need to do is go to Options. Click on the Connect Tree, and below that, Options. Click on Perform. It should say All Networks as your server. At the Perform commands box, Type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <Username> <Password>" without Quotes. (replace Username/Password with your own) and then click on Ok, and Connect like Normal. If you use more then one Network on MIRC however, You will need to add Skulltag IRC on the Servers List. This is pretty easy. Just go to Options, Click on Servers, Click on Add, Type whatever you want as Description. (I just put Skulltag IRC) and In the IRC Server slot, Type irc.skulltag.net. Keep the port default witch is 6667. In Group put Skulltag. Then Click on Add. The Server you have just added will be Selected. Next, click on Options, Click on Perform. Click on Add. Then select Skulltag. Next, in the Perform Cmds box, Type Type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <Username> <Password>" without Quotes. (replace Username/Password with your own). After that, click on Ok. Connect like Normal.

How to Auto Identify with NickServ in Chatzilla

First, you need to connect to irc. Type "/attach irc.skulltag.net" (without quotes) and it should connect. Then, go to the ChatZilla Menu, then Preferences. After that, click on Irc.skulltag.net. Click on the Lists tab, and then on Auto-Preform, click on Add, and type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <Username> <Password>" (without quotes) (replace Username/Password with your own) and then enter. Then Hit apply, and ok. Then reconnect, and it should auth for you. Simple as that. Notice, as you do not have to add a / in the box. Chatzilla does that for you.

Ok, so you got Hydra going. Go to Options>Prefs... Click on Scripts... This is where it gets a little technical... Make a Command Profile named "OnStartup" and in the Commands window for that profile, type "/Server irc.skulltag.net" (without quotes). Then Make another Command Profile, name it "irc.skulltag.net_OnLoggedIn" (again w/o "") Then in the Commands window, Type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <Username> <Password>" (w/o ""). (replace Username/Password with your own.) You can also type "/join #skulltag" and other rooms. After that, click on Ok... It should Auto-Identify you on Startup. Have fun

How to AutoIdentify with Xchat

Ok so here we go.. First, you start Xchat. You will see this window Pop up.. Its pretty simple.. Just replace the 3 name choices with yours, and Username and Realname with what you want. Then below that, you see the server list. Click on + Add.. Type in Skulltag. Click on Edit. Doubleclick where it says NewServer, and replace that with irc.skulltag.net , like this.. You can choose the few settings below that window if you wish. Next, click on the ... icon next to Favorite Channels Line, and the AutoJoin Window pops up.. In that window, click on Add.. Type in #skulltag like so.. Then click Ok. You are back in the channel window, and #skulltag should show in the Fav Channel line. Now, on the nickserv password line, Type your Password that you use to identify with NickServ. After that, click on close. Now Xchat is set up to connect to Skulltag IRC. You can choose to have Xchat skip this window on Startup, or not. Now Connect, and all should be well.

If you use DoomSeeker to connect to irc..

How to Auto Identify with DoomSeeker IRC

First off, let me say that, once you select Skulltag for first time Startup, it will ask you for a nickname. This only happens if you do not define one. Ok, so.. Start Up DoomSeeker, go to Options>IRC Options. Click on Networks, then on Skulltag. Click on Edit. In the General Tab, The Description should be "Skulltag", and the address should read "irc.skulltag.net", and the port of course, should be 6667, as shown below... Now, click on the Nickserv Tab, in the Nickserv Box, type in your password. in the other box, it should read /msg nickserv identify %1. (%1 will be replaced with the password you entered in the above box. Next, (this part is optional) Click on Channels, you can add all the channels you want to join on Connect. Usally #skulltag is already in there. And there you go. Click on Ok. After all that, click on View>IRC. Then at the Bottom, the IRC Tab should be Open. Click on the adapter looking thing with the Green Checkmark to Connect to IRC. A Window should pop up, asking for your Nick, Alt nick, and Real Name. There is also a pull down menu to select the network you want to conenct to. Click on Skulltag. Keep the Password box blank, and hit Ok. After a few secs, it will connect to IRC, and there you go.

How to AutoIdentify with Opera IRC

Ok so, The way you do IRC in Opera has changed.. You must now make a Mail/Chat Account to be able to use the irc part of Opera. So.. Go to the Main Menu>Mail and Chat Accounts.. It will say "You must create a new account.." press Yes. After that, you will see a list of Accounts you can Create. Click on Chat (IRC), then click Next. It will then ask for RealName, and Email Address. You do not need to put your real email address here. Real Name will be the name that will show up in Whois, before your Ident, and Hostmask. Next, It will ask you for your Nick. This is your IRC nick. Just put your normal Nick in there. Next, It will say "Choose IRC Network." Of course Skulltag IRC will not be on there. Just type irc.skulltag.net, or another server that you usally connect to. Like spectre.skulltag.net After all that.. You should Connect. A box will pop up named "Chat Rooms" In that box, click on Account with the down arrow, and click on Properties. Click on the Outgoing Tab, and at the white box at the bottom of that window, You can type "/ns IDENTIFY Nick Pass" without qoutes of course. You can add /join #skulltag, if you wish. After that, go back to the Click on Add, and a window named Join Chat Room will come up. NOTE: If you put /join #skulltag into the auto Commands box, You don't need to do this step after this line. >In the line "Room", type #skulltag, then Hit ok. After that, you got onto IRC, Congrats
