98a Preview 1: Improved Voting! One of the most aggravating problems in Skulltag is its weak voting system. Voting itself works, but the system is too-often abused and spammed. Well, I'm happy to say that 98a puts an end to that! Let's walk through all the changes. Flood protection. Say goodbye to aggravating, repetitive votes. In 98a, if you don't get your way, too bad. You can't just spam votes until people give in. Each player can call only one vote every 5 minutes, and, if a specific vote fails, it can't be brought up again -- by anyone! -- for another 10 minutes. Each category of vote is time-balanced, too: it stops people from calling timelimit votes over and over again, for instance. So make them count! Better kickin' Before, a mong could use a really complicated name to make it hard to votekick him. No longer: in 98a, you can just use this convenient slider. Quick and easy! Once a mong is kicked, he gets tempbanned for 10 minutes. And he can't duck around it: he can't just change his name, or leave the server early: Skulltag won't be fooled. Peace and serenity. Vote reasons Hey, why the heck was this called? Reasons make voting faster and simpler, by eliminating the need to look through chat messages. You can look up, vote, and go back to playing. Once you've voted, the vote screen now hides itself. Better menu The "call vote" menu has been simplified and re-organized, making it easier and faster to call votes! Other nice little things.- Did you make a mistake when calling your vote, and now everyone has to wait for it to fail? Just cancel it by voting "no".
- "Player votes no" are now printed in the console, as are helpful messages (such as "this server has disabled kickvotes") if your vote is denied.
- Server runners can manually set the minimum of players needed to vote (sv_minvoters), or cancel a vote at any time (cancelvote).
- Don't forget, you can always see who voted what by opening the scoreboard.
Enjoy!

1st! Nah sorry could not resist. Anyway Flood Protection will help alot, agianst those idiots spamming votes just to annoy people. Votekicking by choicing name will make those idiots who think they can not get banned pass away. Reasons, i do not really know about that, but well i belive it is better. Menu, easier to pick what you want to do

This is going to make all the griefers really angry... So good job on that one. One clarification: if a vote is canceled by the caller by voting no, does the 5 minute rule still apply?

I should think so, otherwise it would allow vote spamming still.

This is sounding like a very solid system, and will most likeley solve any problems i often see in servers. Cutman wrote: I should think so, otherwise it would allow vote spamming still. Most likeley. But waiting 5 min to try again isn't that big a deal IMO. Could be worse. Although maybe a "second chance" policy would be more interesting. Ex: A player calls a vote then cancels it. A second try could be possisble right away, but after 2 trys you would have to wait 5 min. No spamming, no players bitching because they have to wait. Just an idea. But if it is what it is right now, no biggie.

Awesome, just awesome. Great job. Spamming self votekicks used to be fun anyway but this will thankfully prevent annoying votes in public servers

What the fuck, this is amazing. No more noobs calling 20 votes in a minute, there's a ton of 'em. This is so sweet.

I'm tempted to say that using full autoaim with mouselook is cheating, but I'm sure I'll just be scoffed at. It's cheap to say the least.
Anyway, although this is great news, don't you think the 5/10 minute limit is too long? I would have gone for 2/5 minutes or less.
