I really hate to do this - after asking for donations - but unfortunately, Paypal won't verify my account - I did everything correct, even contacted them, but there's nothing I can do. The only thing I can do now is simply refund everyone's money.

If anyone is still interested in donating to the site, I have a friend who has a Paypal account all set up and ready to go, but I will only give the details privately.

I'm really sorry this happened, everyone. :( I appreciate everyone who wanted to contribute, though! You should expect to see your refunds soon.

Paypal's Support is ass, I guess I was just one of the lucky ones, as I didn't run into any problems.

Did you check your bank statement? They should have deposited two values into your account. Enter those two on the paypal site, and it should verify. Really helps to have online banking here.

Kinda shitty, because I wanted to donate too.

Yup, paypal sucks. They didn't like my bank account (small local bank), so I couldn't even donate (or set up a paypal merchant account).

Have you considered Google Checkout?
I've had good luck with them, and they payout frequently.

Google requires you to be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity to receive donations because of sales tax laws...

If a per transaction fee is acceptable you could offer buy buttons for $5, $10, $20, etc. "e-goods" (e.g. customers purchase an e-mail saying "thanks").

Seconded what Vortex said, you should definitely take a look at Google Checkout. It's just as good as PayPal.

Fuck. That's bad.

I would donate, but since the local money is a 6:10 ratio in comparrision to dollars (R$1,00 is equivalent to US$0.65), I couldn't help much. Sorry.

Also, doesn't the donators' accounts registered the donations? Maybe you could ask everyone who donated to contact their support. I think they would look forward if many people reports the same problem.

So, what's the reason for it not verifying?

Yea. Was it deleted? Like I said. Sounds VERY fishy to me.

Then don't donate. It's as simple as that.

Ever heard of "buyer beware?" The same goes for donations.

I am being honest and up front about this, and I am accused of being fishy or trying to "run off" with peoples moneys. (And before you go trying to deny that you ever did, I am quite aware of your petty rumors)

Is it not assurance enough that this site has run off MY OWN money for a while now? I can assure you the money I've received in donations nowhere near matches up to the total amount I've invested in this site.

If it sounds fishy, then go away. It's as simple as that.

What can I tell you to assure you that it's not? You'd never believe anything I say anyway. I'm not going to even try and convince you because you and your friends aren't worth the effort, and you would not even donate if you had the money anyway. So why even question it?

The problems that I have told you I have are real. The costs that I pay toward this site are real. The costs that I pay toward my own health care are real. If that's not real enough for you, then bug off. I'm not going to sit here and re-explain everything for 5 hours to someone who has no intention of helping out in the first place.
