For those of you who want to get a bird's-eye glance at all the latest changes in Skulltag's public projects, we've installed a python script called ViewVC on our site! Now, you can view any repositories we make, as well as changes to them, present and future, with this simple little tool!

http://skulltag.net/ViewVC/

You can also link objects from the repository, which allows you to easily download or link miscellaneous skins from stwad, or even code from an older revision of Doomseeker, without needing to install svn or download the entire trunk just to see a past revision!

Enjoy!

As an additional note, anything you see on ViewVC can be accessed with a subversion tool via svn://skulltag.net/ (ex: svn://skulltag.net/doomseeker/)

Nice! Now we can receive e-mail notifications when somethings changes...

Just add the URL of the page you're interested in to http://www.changedetection.com/
Avoid spam -- Set up a gmail account just for changedetection.com stuff, then add a filter that only forwards "changedetection" to your real e-mail.

This is awesome. Thanks!

For Doomseeker you can be notified of changes through cia.vc: http://cia.vc/stats/project/Doomseeker

Yep, and before cia.vc you could just "$ svn update" the specific folder you care about too...

Now that we have ViewVC, you can get notified of just the changes you actually care about by email via changedetection.com.

Eg: you can change detect on: /src/skulltag or /src/odamex in DS to get notified of changes to just those plugins,
or get notified of any new funskins additions, or just changes to ST wad's maps.
(instead of being notified of every single change...)

I <3 choice.
Speaking of choice: Since skulltag.wad is technically open source, we could also get an RSS feed for it too via cia.vc.
I forget why this was decided against...

Last I heard, cia.vc doesn't do 'data' projects, or so I'm told.

I'd have no problems getting them to track st wad, but I'm not going to violate any of their policies in getting them to do so.

And plus, there's still a few... 'minor copyright issues' with skulltag.wad anyway.

Install RapidSVN or some other SVN client then use the svn URI up there to "checkout" the code (checkout == download) (ex: for stwad -- svn://skulltag.net/stwad/ )

I prefer the command line interface of Subversion win32
(Linux users can get svn from their repo. ubuntu: "$ sudo apt-get install svn")

With the cmd line SVN client you open a terminal and check out the files you want.
Here's how to get all of the funskins into your c:\skulltag\funskins\ folder:
Code:
C:\> svn co svn://skulltag.net/stwad/funskins/ skulltag\funskins

If you just want to get one file at a time... Point your web browser at the repository you want:
DoomSeeker SVN: http://skulltag.net/doomseeker/svn/
STWad SVN: http://skulltag.net/stwad/

The web links will also work with some subversion clients, but there's some unresolved error that will give 403's to random people and allow others access - I have no idea why it's doing that, but it's why I switched to using the "svn" protocol instead of http - it makes things easier to manage.
