Understanding the layout
Doom Connector’s environment is very simple to follow, and easy to navigate.
To make things easier to understand, I will have the taps on there own sections.
Rooms
The Rooms tap is where you will select a server to play on, or if you want to create your own personal server.
You will be able to see servers from any game that you have enabled. If you have just started using Doom Connector, you might not see any servers, unless configured later. (Described later on)
However I will describe the columns that are used:
- Room: Server or Virtual Server Room name.
– A virtual room, allowing anyone to connect to it, even if the client is not using Doom Connector
– Game is currently in progress, on Doom Connector.
– Server is dedicated, and will never close when no users are present in that virtual server. (DC Staff only)
– Room is setup to be a chat room, no games will be hosted from this room.
– Official Tournament by the Doom Connector staff.
- Ping: Ping from the server.
- Users: How many players are currently playing
- Limit: How many players are able to join the Virtual server.
- Max Users “Virtual Room limit”: 32 – Max Players “That can play on the server”: (32) [32(32)]. Keep in mind, that Max Players is what the port engine can handle; SkullTag can handle 32 players, max.
- Location: Location of where the server itself is located.
- Engine: What game the server is hosting. Engine is the port/executable name; for example: SkullTag.
- Game: What IWAD and Game type the server is using. For example: [Doom 2 Deathmatch] or [Hexen Survival]
- Map: The current map that is being played, and the PWAD’s that are being hosted.
Below the server list, you will see a couple of options:
- Title contains: This allows you to search what server you want to see.
- Show Full: See servers that are full.
- Show Empty: See servers that have no players playing.
- Max Ping: Only see servers at a certain Ping or better.
- Refresh: Refresh your server list from each engine. (If multiple is used)
- Enter Room: Join a selected room virtually.
- Create Room: Create your own personal virtual room, for either playing games, or just a simple chat room.
Doom Connector Chat
Doom Connector allows users to talk with other users from the main channel, or even when accessing a virtual server room!
- Note: This feature is accessible from all tabs, and when accessing a virtual room; though once you join a virtual server room, you leave one channel (chat room) for another channel (chat room).
I will describe the options that are available:
- Address: When a user posts a URL (Website Address), it will be shown from this box. URL’s are not clickable from the main chat window.
- Whisper: Send a private message to a selected user. Keep in mind, that this is not the same as a normal Private Messaging.
: Stop new message from appearing on the chat window. This Icon will flash when there is new messages on hold, simply click on the Icon again to get all messages that were on hold.
With the chat feature, there is also commands that can be used aswell. Though in most cases, you will not need them, unless you have Operator status.

On Engine Folder directory, you will need to search for the exact skulltag folder. If you used the SkullTag installer, it will be located at:

Then click OK.
Doom Connector will automatically begin looking for Skulltag servers.
Now you can play Skulltag on Doom Connector!
