IWAD
An IWAD is the main resource file for a Doom-engine game, containing all the game's original sounds, levels, and graphics. The IWAD files are:
- Doom1.wad (Doom shareware episode 1)
- Doom.wad (Doom or Ultimate Doom)
- Doom2.wad (Doom 2)
- TNT.wad (Final Doom - TNT's Evilution)
- Plutonia.wad (Final Doom - Plutonia)
- Heretic1.wad (Heretic episode 1 shareware)
- Heretic.wad (Heretic or Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders)
- Hexen.wad (Hexen)
- HexDD.wad (Hexen: Deathknights of the Dark Citadel)
- Strife0.wad (Strife Teaser version)
- Strife1.wad (Strife: Quest for the Sigil)
In order to play any game using Skulltag, you have to have one of the above game's IWADs. In order to play a custom level designed for any of the above games you have to have that particular game's IWAD. If you get an error starting ZDoom that goes something like "STCFsomethingsomething not found!", then you either do not have the necessary IWAD or you have an old, unpatched version of the IWAD in question.
