Using the RCON Utility
The RCON Utility is a fast and easy way of managing your server while being away from your server. This small and lightweight utility, can allow you to manage your server while you are at work, or at a small café.

Accessing a Server
When you access the RCON Utility, you will a window that will look like this:
In order to access a server, you will need a “Server IP Address” and the servers “RCON Password”. If the server does not have an RCON Password, then you will not be able to manage the server using the RCON Utility.
How do I find the Server IP Address?
The easiest way of finding your server is through the “Internet Doom Explorer Skulltag Edition” or (IDESE). When you access the “IDESE”, scroll through the server list for the server you want to manage.
Once you have found the server on “IDESE”, you’ll see an IP Address for that server, along with a Port Address. You will copy both of the IP and Port address to the RCON Utility under (Server:).
How do I obtain the RCON Key?
You will need to ask your host, or if this is for your Personal Server, then you will be able to create your own under the “General Options” on the initial Server Window. Once you have the key, place the key on the (RCON:) from the RCON Utility.
Now to access a server, you want to press (Connect). This will take you straight to the server.
How to use the RCON Utility
With using the RCON Utility, you will need to use commands. To start using a command, you will always have a slash ( / ) as the first character. When you place the slash ( / ) on the console, it will know that you are sending a command. If you do not use a slash, then the server will assume you are only chatting to the players that are playing in your server.
To make things easy, I’ll give out a few simply and quick commands.
- Kicking a Player - /KICK “PLAYER NAME” “Reason For Kicking”
- Ban User - /BAN “Player Name” “Reason For Banning”
- Changing a Map “With Intermission” - /CHANGEMAP MAPxx
- Map Change “Players Reconnect” - /MAP MAPxx
