Doomguy is the default name fans gave to the playable space marine in Doom (1993). He was deliberately given no in-game name or backstory — just a face on the HUD that bleeds when you take damage. In Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal, id Software canonised him as the Doom Slayer, a mythic figure tied to Hell’s lore.
