Zandronum master list via doomlist.net, polled every 20 minutes; humans only, aggregates only. Samples in the window: 4135.

How alive is classic Doom multiplayer, right now and over the last month? This page answers with numbers we collect ourselves: every 20 minutes our census reads the Zandronum master list and stores how many people are actually in a game, on how many servers, in which modes and with which files. It keeps aggregates only. No player names are ever stored.

How to read it

  • Humans in game counts real players on servers at the last sample; bots and spectators are counted separately and excluded.
  • Daily peak is the highest sample of each day on record, up to the last 30 days. It shows the size of the community better than an average, because most servers sit empty most of the time.
  • When people play is the average per hour of the day, in UTC. Convert to your own time zone to find a full server.
  • Modes and IWADs are shares of server samples over the window, so a mode that runs on one server all month can outrank one that filled ten servers on a single evening.

What it does not cover yet

Only the Zandronum master list is polled for now. Odamex and ZDaemon have their own masters, and peer-to-peer games in GZDoom, UZDoom or Chocolate Doom never show up on any list, so these figures are a floor for classic-Doom multiplayer, not the whole picture. When a number is more than three hours old, the page hides it rather than show a stale one.
